The overwhelming view of the Serra del Montsant (located in the north of the region) is not an accident. For centuries, farmers before us knew that the best grapes come from the slopes that face north, better protected from the intense summer sun. Here and there, throughout our Porrera vineyards, there are what are called “roquers”, rocks protruding from the ground and deeply penetrated by roots seeking food.
MAS D’EN CAÇADOR
It is a 2 ha farm. of llicorella slate soil with unterraced slopes. Old vines of 75 and 100 years with an equal proportion of Grenache and Cariñena, which make up the majority of “Roquers de Porrera”. It is located 500 meters above sea level, north face.
MAS D’EN FERRAN
There are 5 ha. of terraces 2 to 3 meters wide where there is Grenache Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. They contribute to rounding out our Roquers de Porrera and are the source for the Marge.
